Best Game Ever shortfilm, 2018

UI and UX design and development for an AI-based application for Kristóf Deák's Best Game Ever shortfilm.

When two CCTV technicians find out about an AI machine threatening their jobs, they must get out of their chairs to beat the system - leading them to an unexpected solution.

Design decisions

We had to create a believable and authentic user interface to support the game narrative of the film. The aim of the game was for the user to collect points through a simple interaction in a familiar environment which could already potentially exist somewhere in the world.

User interface for teaching an AI

We used the CMU’s OpenPose Real-time multi-person keypoint detection library for body recognition to build the underlying system.

Dashboard for visualising AI status

The dashboard shows the system’s actual level of intelligence, whereas the old-school, terminal-based design referred to an interface for system administrators and maintenance.
